Information about our programs

The Self-Access English Learning Center (SAELC) produces computer-based materials for learning English from the absolute beginners’  level up to the university level. 

 There are 3 programs: 

English for Beginners is an audio-visual program which teaches the ABC and all the rules

 governing the letters of the English alphabet. It also teaches the first 250 words of English

 and basic grammar. This program employs visual mnemonics -- aka the Keyword Method -

for teaching the names of the letters and for vocabulary.

English for Schools is an audio-visual English vocabulary learning program designed to

meet the needs of pupils in their junior high school, high school and university studies.

It consists of 3 levels. Level 1 teaches the 1000 most frequent words of English. Level 2

teaches the second most frequent 1000 words of English. Level 3 teaches the third most

frequent 1000 words. E4S uses texts by famous author of English learning books, L. A. Hill.

E4S also teaches English grammar. This courseware was approved by the Israeli Ministry of

Education.

Business English teaches 500 words of professional English by means of stories, pictures

and various exercises/games. This program is useful for high school students who plan to

work in business or administration.
